I usually try to avoid merely linking to other people's blog posts or news stories, but one (thanks to Éric for pointing it out to me) is really incredible so I can't resist: someone in England was arrested for using the Web browser lynx—the uncommon user-agent was interpreted by some asshole operator as an attempt at hacking.

Impressive. I sure hope whoever is responsible gets sacked.
