I finished reading Iris Murdoch's The Nice and the Good some time ago, but I notice that I forgot to write in this 'blog what I thought of it. So—I quite enjoyed it: it is well written and craftily constructed, and never lengthy or boring. But above all, it is bathed in a soothing feeling of profound happiness, and yet this doesn't mean that there is no plot at all. This is one of the most pleasantly relaxing books that I have read, yet it is very rich. The only quibble I have is that there are too many characters introduced too rapidly, so the first few chapters are a bit hard to follow.
