    ftpd-BSD looking for new maintainer

ftpd-BSD is a Linux port of the ftp server (ftpd) from OpenBSD.  The
last released version is 0.3.2, in sync with OpenBSD version 2.7 (plus
a security fix).  This server is not as featureful as wu-ftpd but it
has the advantage of being smaller and (presumably) safer.  As there
have been some security issues with both wu-ftpd and proftpd, this is
one possible alternative.

It has been my honor to start this port (precisely "scratching an
itch" because I could find no ftp server suiting my needs) and to
maintain it for some time.  However, it has become sadly obvious that
I can no longer continue to maintain it efficiently, or even
adequately.  Several changes have been brought to OpenBSD that make
synchronization more and more difficult; moreover, I have several
patches which various users have sent me, which need careful review,
and which I have not had the time of looking at in detail.  I have
even been unable, for lack of time, to respond to some user questions
and criticisms.

Therefore, I am looking for a volunteer to take over my work.  Of
course, I will give the new maintainer all the relevant data, comments
and pending patches.  And I will be hopefully able to answer (his|her)
questions.  Quite possibly, the next release should be a joint work
between us.

The amount of work is not enormous.  However, it must be done very
meticulously, because many people have come to rely on ftpd-BSD for
its security.  The program is not very complicated; however, it must
be fully understood.  And be prepared to make an extensive use of
diff, patch and related text tools.
