This is the special edition of OldLeg. It is almost certainly the last version
of OldLeg that will ever exist and that is what makes it so special. This
edition of OldLeg22 bears the version number 21.45.

See http://www.eleves.ens.fr:8080/home/madore/legendes/index.html for more
information about Legendes (OldLeg and NewLeg).

This special edition of OldLeg differs from the original edition in that
whatever material could not be freely copied has been removed. That means,
some musics (some of them were pirated from Ultima and have been deleted;
the rest are either classical themes or composed by Antoine Allain
specifically for Legendes), one .voc file (mort.voc pirated from Ultima: it
was the laugh of the Guardian, and is now simply deleted) and the effets.dat
file (also pirated from Ultima) which has also been deleted. Of course,
these changes implied making some changes to the source, and these changes
have been clearly marked by a "*** SPECIAL EDITION" sign.

I did retain the sb, sbpro and sb16 drivers as well as the awe32 library
and the corresponding include file, which are all copyrighted by Creative,
because I believe (though I could find no clear statement to that effect
either in the manuals or in the files themselves or anywhere) that one is
allow to redistribute them together with programs which use them as long as
one does not modify them, or use them for any other purpose than that for
which they were intended (namely making programs compatible with the
SoundBlaster cards). Of course, Creative shall not be held responsible for
anything that may happen. If I am incorrect in my interpretation of this
copyright, would somebody please warn me before I get sued so I can remove
them.

To compile this thing you need Borland's Turbo Pascal, version 5.5 or better
(I think - actually version 4.0 may suffice). The main file is LEGENDES.PAS
and everything is included or unit'ed from that. Some .PAS files may actually
have nothing to do with legendes, by the way. There are some .ASM files which
need Borland's Turbo Assembler but I include the compiled version so that's
no problem. The first time LEGENDES is run, it will ask a series of questions
about the config. NEVER answer 'autodetect'. Some things don't work right,
and so on and so on.
