Still there might be a strategy beneath all that. What Quentin experiences brings up to my mind the sentence coined by Pascal: “Qui veut faire l’ange fait la bête”. Rather than asserting that the hero overcame Truth, I’d say he has come to terms with his own contradictions: idealistic yearnings vs. cravings to make it in life. Maybe surrendering to a contrapuntal position equates with reaching one’s inner poise, or so it seems to me…

I'd hoped you'd give us some more ideas or stategies to cope with an imperfect (that's putting it mildly, like saying a glass is 1% full) world…
So the hero overcame Truth (cf. GLF #36?) but did he stop seeing it or only thinking about it?
